Target Group :
All children of school going age who are in and out of school / their parents, which include

• Children of 6-16 age group
• Students of Class-I to X

Helpline cell :
The School Student Helpline is operated by the Grievance Redressal Cell of School & Mass Education Department opened in OPEPA premises. Presently the Cell is manned by three senior officers (one of them is lady), four teachers (two lady teacher), one section Officer, two Sr. clerks & two Data Entry Operators.

Operation Strategy :
On receipt of a call, the person operating the phone enters the details of call in a register & then it is computerized

• Thereafter it is categorized problem wise and officer wise
• It is then sent to officer concerned for redressal with deadline.
• One officer from state level has been designated as the Officer-in-charge of each district to monitor the action taken on grievance cases and student helpline cases.

Trust Building :
The name of the complainant is kept confidential in all cases of child abuse and child protection and in other cases wherever necessary.

• Action is taken against the complaint of the child only after due enquiry.
• The caller/complainant is informed about the action taken, wherever possible.

Publicity :
Instruction has been issued to display the Toll Free No in the walls of all Schools of the State including public schools for wide circulation among students/ parents.

Convergence:
The SSH works in convergence with W&C.D Deptt. and ST/SC Development Deptt.

• The complaints relating to MDM are received and transmitted to W&CD Deptt. for action at their level.
• The problems/suggestions received from the students / parents of schools run by ST &SC Deptt. are transmitted to the said Deptt. for redressal at their level.
