Odisha School Reopening Guidelines and Dates Among This COVID-19 Pandamic

The Government of Odisha has issued strict guidelines for reopening schools in Odisha. Because the third wave of COVID-19 is near. Many states started to open schools gradually. But  reviewing the current situation Odisha government issued fresh guidelines for the reopening of schools. Because recently 102 children have been diagnosed with COVID. Among 762 new COVID-19 patients in the state, 102 are in the 0-18 age group. This is alarming. So, the government issued new school reopening guidelines.

A fresh guideline was issued by the School and Mass Education Department on Tuesday after some children and teachers tested positive for the infection in Dhenkanal and Bargarh districts.

The Odisha government mentioned some guidelines must be followed by the schools authorities. These guidelines are : 


  • Students, teachers and other staffers must wear masks to enter the schools where classes are being held for students of standards 9, 10 and 12. Musk is mandatory.


  • A COVID monitor, preferably the PET of the school, must have to ensure strict maintaining to social distancing norms. 


  • Anyone with even mild symptoms must be refrained from entering the schools.


  •  Thermal screening and hand sanitiser at the entrance of the schools have to be ensured.


  •  In the guidelines it is mentioned that both offline and online classes will continue.


  • And it is also mentioned in guidelines that no student must be forced to attend the physical classes.




Khurda district registered the highest number of new cases at 314, then comes Cuttack cases at 119. Cuttack is in second position of the list of high number of cases.



Odisha now has 6,853 active cases as on Tuesday.


The Odisha state has tested over 1.85 crore samples for COVID-19 till now including 64,602 on Tuesday. The daily test positivity rate stood at 1.17 per cent. So, the government issued this strict guidelines for reopening the schools in Odisha.
