National Health Mission (NHM), Uttar Pradesh has issued a notification on various job portal websites and on its official website “upnrhm.gov.in”, for recruitment of 6000 Community Health Officers (CHO). The candidates who want to apply for the post have to first enrol for a 6 month Certified Bridge Program Community in Community Health Under State Health Society, which is a part of this job vacancy. The selected candidates will undergo rigorous training under this course before actually starting with their job profile work. The application process is completely online with no application fee, had started on 09th May 2019 at 03 p.m. and ended on 23rd May 2019. But because of the huge response to the advertisement, which led to the site getting crashed, compelled the officials to extend the last application date to 27th May 2019 till 11:59 p.m.
As a part of an initiative run under the National Health Mission, NHM Bridge Program Course aims to strengthen Sub-Centers as Health and Wellness Centers (H&WCs) to enhance the quality of public health programmes and their procedures. The course also aims to provide comprehensive primary health care service delivery, including disease prevention and health promotion. A primary health care team consisting of frontline workers such as the female health workers (ANMs), male health workers (MPW) and ASHAs, which will be headed by the CHOs.
Eligibility Criteria for CHO Post:
Total vacancies of 6000 posts are divided into two sessions/phases, which are:
- CHO-I: July 2019 Session- 2805 Posts, and
- CHO-II: January 2020 Session- 3195 Posts.
The pay-scale during the training period will be INR. 20,000/- per month as a stipend, which includes Boarding and Lodging allowances and INR. 35,000/- per month (Rs. 20,000/- as Honoraria + Rs. 15,000/- as performance-based incentive) will be offered at the time of final posting at District as CHOs.
A suitable candidate for the CHO post will be a person who has,
- A Bachelor’s Science Degree in Nursing / General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) RNRM from a recognized University, and
- Must be registered with Uttar Pradesh State Nursing Council at the time of online application,
- Candidates with a minimum of 2-years of work experience either in the Health sector or in Public Health System, preferably in Primary/Community Health Centre Level would be preferred, and
- Proficiency in the regional/local language along with English and Hindi is desirable.
- The applicant should be 35 years or lesser at the time of application, with age relaxation policy per the U.P. State Government Rules.
Selection of the applicants is divided into two rounds. The first round will be an online written test which will an objective based test. And those who will be securing the cut-off marks will qualify for the final round which will be an interview. And, those who will successfully pass both the rounds will be hired for the CHO post.
Exam Date For The Post of CHO:
There will be one online written examination for both the sessions/phases, which will be conducted at one go in the month of June 2019. The exam will be of 100 marks Multiple Choice Questions based, consisting of 100 questions of 1 mark each. The exam date, venue, instructions and guidelines shall be uploaded soon on the official website “www.upnrhm.gov.in or www.sams.co.insoon.”
The written test for the CHO post will be based on the following subjects:
a.) Midwifery and Obstetrical Nursing.
b.) Community Health Nursing.
c.) Child Health Nursing.
d.) Medical-Surgical Nursing.
h.) First aid.
i.) Paediatric Nursing,
j.) Administration and Ward Management.
